Review: Thoughts on Week 2

Well, I completed my first blog backup, so that is pretty exciting! My favorite thing that appeared in the announcements was the growth mindset cat meme, that appeared in the Thoughts on Feedback assignment. I really like how fun the pictures are that our teacher posts. It's also inspired me for new ideas to post pictures on my posts. I did have one question, is it possible to post pictures that you take yourself on these posts?

  1. Oh, that is so cute! And yes, of course, if you are inspired by looking through the announcements to share a meme of your own that you like, that's great! I don't know if you look sometimes at the blog stream in class, but that is a fun way people see things like this; your post with that cute dog is there right now! class blog stream :-)

  2. I think it is interesting that you are enjoying finding pictures and are inspired to find more memes for your blog posts! I am so the opposite. I am very much a writer and I am enjoying the reading and writing aspect. While I love a good meme, I dread trying to find an image for every blog post. Maybe some of your image motivation will rub off!

  3. I just did the blog backup too, it was really simple and useful. I also enjoy how fun this class can be. I have often said that this class is kind of a get-away from some of our other more taxing and bitter courses. Even though we are still learning, the approach to this class makes it fun and entertaining. Also, I think its great that you're inspired by the material. Thats the best when you can be moved by a class. And I have seen other students post pictures of themselves, however, I am unsure how. Sorry! But I know that it can be done. Hope you figure it out!

Introduction

Hey everyone, my name is Stephanie Krawczyk. I'm from Tulsa, Oklahoma and I am beginning my senior and final year here at the University of Oklahoma studying Chemical Engineering. Although there are a lot of cool things about m major, I think the coolest thing about my major is that even though I have learned so much in my time here, there is so much out there to discover and continue learning! I love my family and I love that Tulsa isn't too far of a drive from them. And they can make the trip up to see me too. I have a younger brother, Adam, who just moved into his freshman year at the University of Arkansas, and I am so excited to see where his life takes him in the next couple of years. Also I have one dog who is the coolest dog in the whole world (even though all dogs are amazing). Her name is Kacy and she's 10 years old. I always make my parents send me pictures of her. Here is a picture I took of her: One of my other favorite things is food. I can't think of...

Reading Notes: Czech Folktales Part A

This week I wanted to get ahead and dive into the European Unit. The Czech Folktales immediately stood out to me because of my ancestry in Poland. The Polish and Czech have many similarities culturally, so I wanted to see what kinds of story telling techniques and story plots the Czechs told. The first story in this part of the reading was Sleepy John. I thought that the character development in this story was really cool because initially you have John who sleeps all the time. This gets him into some unusual and difficult situations, but he manages to overcome them. By the end of the story, Sleepy John has obtained the entire kingdom. As a whole, I thought it was really cool that a character that was initially thought to have some negative characteristics turned out to be an awesome and smart character. Maybe he was just tired all the time from all the crazy situations he gets himself into. The next story was Silly Jura. This trend in the title names started to attract my attentio...
