Feedback Strategies

After reading about your opinion on praise and reading some of the articles, I think I decided that I believe you need both praise and critique to give good feedback. I read the article How to Craft Constructive Criticism, and I think one thing this made me think of was that its important to be honest when it comes to giving feedback. But, one point they made was talking about being a mirror and really consider how it is going to come across to them. The other article I read was Presence, not Praise. I don't really think I believe that praise is wrong and hurtful in the long run, but I do think you need a balance and that you shouldn't over do it. This is definitely where the honesty comes into play. You should be able to have mature conversations with people. Praise them when you believe that they deserve it, but don't be afraid to tell them if they are doing something that you don't agree with or if you think they can do better, because it will make them better in the long run. But everyone does need to be praised once in a while. This can definitely be specific and different for each person.

Here is one more picture I took in Columbus, Ohio this weekend because I'm still excited about that Sooner win!

Introduction

Hey everyone, my name is Stephanie Krawczyk. I'm from Tulsa, Oklahoma and I am beginning my senior and final year here at the University of Oklahoma studying Chemical Engineering. Although there are a lot of cool things about m major, I think the coolest thing about my major is that even though I have learned so much in my time here, there is so much out there to discover and continue learning! I love my family and I love that Tulsa isn't too far of a drive from them. And they can make the trip up to see me too. I have a younger brother, Adam, who just moved into his freshman year at the University of Arkansas, and I am so excited to see where his life takes him in the next couple of years. Also I have one dog who is the coolest dog in the whole world (even though all dogs are amazing). Her name is Kacy and she's 10 years old. I always make my parents send me pictures of her. Here is a picture I took of her: One of my other favorite things is food. I can't think of...

Assignments

So far I am really excited for this class. It seems to be really organized, and all of the units on canvas sound interesting. I think the top two things I am most excited for are the readings and the storytelling. This is such a different class than most of the classes I have to take and I am excited to explore the different kinds of mythology that I have never learned about before. The only kind of mythology I am really familiar with is Greek so I am curious to continue learning about the various cultures and how they tie stories into their lives. The readings will allow for this. The storytelling part is also cool because it will allow for creativity to flow in the use of writing, and retaining the knowledge in a different and fun way. The extra credit option is really nice too because if you do enough of it, it will allow for you to complete the desired grade in the class early.
