Growth Mindset

I had never heard of Carol Dweck before this assignment, but after watching the videos I really enjoyed them. I think she does a great job of trying to encapsulate the difficulties that people go through, and why they may or may not face them positively. I think this "growth mindset" way of thinking is a great way to think because there are so many challenges that we all face throughout life and if we, as she said, run from the conflict nothing will ever get done. Challenges are healthy and help us live up to the best versions of ourselves. This is something that I really appreciate, also, because in my major there are a ton of conflicts and problems that are difficult to solve or even attempt to solve, and it is important to face these challenges with an open and positive mind. It is really important to have people out there like her reminding us that we are all going to face challenges, but we must accept them and live up to our highest potentials. I like this picture because it shows the positivity that some of the children had in her first video about loving challenge.

    Hi Sarah!
    I really enjoyed reading your thoughts and ideas about growth mindset. I completely agree with you that growth mindset is a great way to approach learning and just a good way of thinking in general. I also like how you talked about challenges and how challenges are important in order to reach ones highest potential. I can’t wait to read your other posts on this topic!

Hey everyone, my name is Stephanie Krawczyk. I'm from Tulsa, Oklahoma and I am beginning my senior and final year here at the University of Oklahoma studying Chemical Engineering. Week 11 Storytelling: The not so Wiley Coyote

Once there was a coyote, and all he wanted in life was a friend. He often caught himself watching all of the other animals, saddened, thinking to himself, "I wish I could fly like the bird" or "I wish I had such beauty as the ." But all of the other animals were warned about the coyotes kind. They were warned to stay away, because he was a dangerous creature. The coyote wanted to prove to the town that he was actually good, so he devised a plan that would surely show all the other animals that he was not bad.
